Since its inception in 1946, Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort has grown into its role as one of Lake Tahoe's largest resort areas. Ten chairlifts, including three express quads, serve its 2,000 skiable acres. The area was acquired by Booth Creek Ski Holdings in 1996.
A partnership with Burton Snowboards led to introduction of the Progression Park, an easygoing park experience for beginners. Chairlift rides available for non-skiers.
Two hundred and fifty lodges and motels nearby. Tahoe Valley campground not far from area, transportation available daily between Stateline.
Ski shops, rentals, free shuttle service. Childcare for children ages 18 months to 5 years. Barton Memorial Hospital 15 miles away. Ski rental and repair available at main lodge. Cross country, touring, horse drawn sleighs, mountaineering, movie theaters, snowmobiling, swimming, tobogganing and snowskate park. The resort has a telemark and backcountry center with Nordic ski and snowshoe rentals, instruction, and guided tours.
Extensive snowboarding. Six terrain parks, a 17 foot Super Pipe, a boardercross track, two halfpipes, and even more rails.
