The ski area is three miles from the town of Fernie in southeastern British Columbia on the west side of the Canadian Rockies. Known for its inbound steeps, Fernie has been compared to Red Mountain, Alta, Snowbird, Crested Butte, and Jay Peak. It has five alpine bowls that are only partially groomed.
